1. Reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety etc. of a person or thing; confidence
2. Confident expectation of something; hope.
3. A person on whom or thing in which one relies: God is my trust.
Job 15:31 Let him not put trust in worthless things, being led astray, for what he gets in exchange will prove worthless.
Psalm 31:14 But I trust in You, LORD; I say, "You are my God".
Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD: trust in Him, and He will act.
Psalm 40:4 How happy is the man who has put his trust in the LORD and has not turned to the proud or to those who run after lies!
Psalm 62:1 [Trust in God alone] I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.
Psalm 146:3 Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save.
Proverbs 20:6 Many a man proclaims his own loyalty, but who can find a trustworthy man?
Proverbs 28:26 The one who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.
Would you rather.... Trust Everyone....or Trust No one?
This question came up recently while playing a game with a group of friends and the answer was interesting. Half the group answered Trust in Everyone, while the other half answered Trust No one.
Now obviously, neither of the two options is necessarily healthy...or even realistic in this day and age of our world, but it did cause me to ponder the question quite a bit and I turned to The Word for increased understanding.
Over time, because I've learned the importance of guarding one's heart and trusting first and foremost in Yahweh, my answer to the question was Trust No one...and this is why:
In the same way that you shouldn't put your physical life at risk by trusting any stranger on the street, neither should you put your spiritual life at risk either. I think that Psalm 40:4 resonates strongly here because it speaks of those who turn to the proud and chase after lies. To help put this into perspective in regards to today's day and age - look at the millions who have placed their trust and hopes in our president and in preachers on TV, even talk show hosts who claim to have all the answers to today's problems and frustrations.
Trusting in Yahweh, our Creator, is not trusting in a person per se because Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is spirit. Yahweh is perfect...while mankind is so very far from both god and perfection.
To place all your trust in Yahweh is to have hope. It is to have confidence in Her integrity. You simply cannot have this in mankind, because of the gene of sin we all carry.
Even when I minister, I encourage those who question me not to take my word on it - but instead to pray, ponder, even do research on the things that I've shared. This is because while I am Yahweh and Christ's minister and the things I share are truth, it is our Creator who speaks to the heart and reveals all knowledge and understanding. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that all things are revealed - not by man or woman.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance.
Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
When I speak...when I write... I share with our extended flock that which Father Yahweh has shared with me. But, I do not ask that anyone place their trust in me because I am not worthy of their trust. Instead, I encourage all to place their trust in Yahweh whom I serve and where it rightly belongs. I have no power, no control. I cannot save. I am only a tool. A cog in the wheel of Father's family and a vessel that shares the outpouring of knowledge that has been shared with me both freely and with all who will listen. Place your trust not in me, or in any man or woman, but in Yahweh who saves.
