While reading and studying the scriptures the other day, I began to make a correlation with the help of the Holy Spirit that I'd like to share with all of you. I think the one thing that I find most amazing about the Word, is how it truly is like a jigsaw puzzle. It also compounds the fact that the Scriptures are complete and whole in every way, both Old and New Testaments and both are required in order to obtain proper nutrition, knowledge, understanding and ultimately spiritual growth.
The first time we hear about "rest" is at Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing, so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
Now, skipping forward to Psalm 95:11 we see that it says, "So I swore in My anger, 'They will not enter My rest."
What exactly is "My rest"? Let's move ahead to the New Testament at Hebrews 3:18, which refers to the Psalm 95:11 verse: at Hebrews 3:18 it says: And to whom did He "swear that they would not enter His rest," if not those who disobeyed?
And then, at at Hebrews 4:1-4 The Promised Rest
Therefore, while the promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear so that none of you should miss it. For we also have received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith (for we who have believed enter the rest), in keeping with what He has said:
So I swore in My anger,
they will not enter My rest.
And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world, for somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in this way:
And on the seventh day
God rested from all His works.
Currently, we are just slightly over the 6,000 year mark from the time when Eve committed sin, and Adam shortly thereafter. The marked time of the eternal death sentence began when they had each sinned, and not from the actual time they were created.
Mankind is kept in the dark as to the actual date that Adam and Eve sinned, because it symbolizes that no one knows the exact day when Yahweh will bring forth the Wrath and so that no one can attempt to calculate the exact day of Armageddon.
The rest, actually comes after Armageddon, and it is the Millennium. The establishment of Christ's Kingdom. It is the 1,000 year period in which those who have been found faithful will have the opportunity to be enlightened and trained in The Way. At the end of which there will be another testing period when Dawn (Satan the Devil) and his demons will be let loose to test mankind. The final test will be the same test that the first perfect pair (Adam and Eve) were subjected to - that of standing firm in their faith and loyalty to Yahweh.
Now, keep in mind that to Yahweh, a day is 1,000 years. So, the Millennium directly correlates to the "day of rest" which was taken at the beginning of creation. And, when it says at Psalm 95:11 we see that it says, "So I swore in My anger, 'They will not enter My rest." it is referring to those who will not make it into Christ's Kingdom for the Millennium. It speaks of those that will come under Yahweh's wrath at Armageddon.
You may, at this point, be wondering "Well, how can I keep from coming under Yahweh's wrath? What will ensure my entrance into the Kingdom?"
Matthew 7:14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.
This ministry is the same as Christ's. No more. No less. It is the Narrow Path, and few find it. My advice… Search deeply and consider the condition of your heart. Accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Read what we, the ministers of the Light of Life Ministry have to share. Listen with not your ears, but your heart. Open your eyes, and allow Father’s light to shine in.
