The definition of Patience: The quality of being patience, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation or the like. An ability or willingness to suppress annoyance when confronted with delay. Quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence.
Patience. Life takes a LOT of it. Whether it be with your husband or wife, kids, extended family. Coworkers and business associates, customers and clients. Traffic. Waiting in lines at the bank or the grocery store. Our lives are filled with endless opportunities to practice patience with one another, as well as ourselves. And, in addition, having patience in a spiritual way is just as, if not more important.
Ask yourself. How many times has a lack of patience led to worry, angst and a feeling of anxiousness? How many times has a lack of patience harmed a relationship with someone you love? How many times as a lack of patience caused you to do something out of character that you later regretted? How many times has a lack of patience caused you to hurt someone, whether physically or to their psyche or their feelings or all three?
The thing about the Word, (the Holy Scriptures) is that it’s an instruction manual to living life. And, to be successful in taking the advice given in the Word and applying it to our daily lives, we must accept the wisdom contained within the pages of the Bible in the same way that we accept the nourishment that fuels our body. The Word, is nourishment that fuels our Spiritual Life. It also takes patience to follow what is shared with us there.
2 Timothy 1:16 [The Sacred Scriptures] But you have followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, and endurance,
Christian life is a way of living, and patience is a staple of Christian life as outlined here at Colossians 3:12.
Colossians 3:12 [The Christian Life] Therefore, God's chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
It’s interesting how the old adage of “Patience is a virtue” is so very true. We’ve all heard it and we know what patience is, but what exactly is a virtue? Virtue is moral excellence, goodness and righteousness. What we as Christians pursue, is righteousness - not in our own eyes, but in Father Yahweh’s eyes. It is also conformity of one’s life and conduct to moral and ethical principals. This is exactly what being a Christian is. Conformity to Father Yahweh and Christ’s Way; and it is via Christ and via Christ ONLY that we are able to reach Father Yahweh.
Another area in which we must practice patience is spiritually, and with Father Yahweh Herself. Understanding that She does things in Her own perfect timing and according to Her own perfect way is something that not only takes patience, but trust and faith as well.
Sometimes prayers are not answered how we had hoped they would be. Sometimes things work out much differently than we thought they should. Sometimes things do not happen in the span of time in which we expect them to. But having patience and also the trust and faith in Father Yahweh to know that our lives are in Her hands, is very important because if we try to step up and take things into our own hands rather than having the patience to just wait and allow Father Yahweh to handle things for us, we will find ourselves hitting a brick wall and actually be out of union with Her.
During Adam and Eve’s time, many holy angelic hosts did not practice patience in that they felt that Father Yahweh was not timely in delivering the death sentence to Adam and Eve. Dawn (Satan Lucifer the Devil) managed to convince many that Father was a liar and when it didn’t happen in the amount of time they felt it should have and with Dawn helping to cultivate that thought, they fell from perfection because of it.
Since then, we have been warned of the impending wrath and Christ’s second coming. Many people, Christian and non-Christian alike, have the same attitude towards it as the holy angelic hosts did of Father Yahweh’s wrath against Adam and Eve for their disobedience. What they didn’t know then, is that Father Yahweh’s day is not the same 24 hour day as it is for us. So She did not lie at all. It was all to happen in Her own perfect timing and it DID come to pass exactly as She said it would. In fact, Father Yahweh endured with great PATIENCE and She has continued to endure with great patience, setting an example for all of us just as Christ endured with great patience during His time on earth.
Romans 9:22 And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction?
In regards to Christ’s second coming, and the pouring out of Father Yahweh’s wrath upon humanity, we must continue to believe with all our hearts that what She has said will come, will come. This means having patience, and understanding that even if it hasn’t come yet, or doesn’t come in the amount of time that we expect it to, that we continue to have trust and faith in Her, knowing that Her will, will be done, in Her own perfect timing. We must continue to endure with great patience until that time comes, always looking to Her first for guidance, knowledge, insight, protection and support.
Many people living in these End Times, do not believe that Father Yahweh’s wrath will come, nor the second coming of Christ, because so much time has passed. So many people I personally come across on an almost daily basis brush it off saying that if it hasn’t happened yet in all this time; that it won’t happen at all. And, without knowing it, this way of thinking is in direct correlation with how the angelic hosts that fell from perfection thought during Adam and Eve’s time – which, unfortunately led to their eternal destruction. This same way of thought, lack of patience, and lack of trust and faith in Father Yahweh will also lead to the eternal destruction of many more when the time comes.
