the me You see in me.
it’s You who knows my heart
and what I was created to be.
My hope is in Your guidance
and correction, yes, that too
that one day I might be completed,
a child made by You.
At times it can be difficult
to walk and never stumble
I’m clumsy in so many ways
and do not wish to crumble.
This clay says to her potter,
make me beautiful inside
so that one day I might be worthy
of all that You provide.
Fill me with Your wisdom,
and equal parts of love
mold me so I’m pleasing
to the One I am part of.
Make me strong so that I might
serve You faithfully each day
this vessel wishes to be useful
and not just for display.
You LORD are my Father,
and I the work of Your hands
may I never disappoint You
and follow Your commands.
From inception to completion,
the latter, though yet to be seen
my trust is in Your ability
in creating Your vision for me.
This vessel gazes to You
and asks so pleadingly
oh please Father help me
to be the me You see in me.
