What do these scriptures mean to you? Are they only applicable to the Israelites of Moses’ time, or do they apply also to today? They start off with saying we should love Yahweh and not only love Her, but love Her with all our heart, our soul and strength. Then they go on to instruct us on what we should do with the commands Yahweh gives us. So what is the tie in?
For me what comes to mind first is how Father is all things and being that She is all things, She is also Her Way. Her Way is the commands that She gives us, the lifesaving instruction that She shares with us and to love Father, is also to love Her Way.
In these scriptures Father encourages us to think about them, ponder them, discuss them and share them with our children and with one another. This shows just how She also wishes that we might understand them rather than just following them blindly. And to understand them, to understand Her Way, is to understand Father Yahweh in all Her glory. This is just one of the many things that I love about Yahweh, because though She asks that we follow Her commands, She also wishes that we learn and grow and understand and share in Her Way because believing in Her is also believing in Her Way, understanding its importance and cherishing it as we cherish Her.
Deuteronomy 6:17-19 “Carefully observe the commands of the LORD your God, the decrees and statutes He has commanded you. Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so that you may prosper and so that you may enter and possess the good land the LORD your God swore to [give] your fathers, by driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.”
Father is not a dictator. She gives us the freewill choice to follow or not to follow Her commands. But it is not hard to make the right choice when we fully understand that the commands that She asks us to follow are for both our own good and the good of all Creation so that we might live in happiness, love and harmony with one another and all of Her creation.
The parallel in this Scripture is also in how it applies not only to the Israelites of the day and time when Moses led them out of Egypt, but also for today’s day of the End Times as we experience the Tribulation and soon, the Rapture and Armageddon, when our enemies (the wicked of creation, both in the physical and spiritual realms) are driven out (literally driven out of creation via death) and look forward to the establishment of the Kingdom. If we, the spiritual Israelites of today, do what is right now and remain faithful and obedient, we are promised entrance into the Kingdom and if we do what is right then in remembering Father in obedience to Her Way, we are promised Eternity.
Deuteronomy 6:20-25 “When your son asks you in the future, ‘What is the meaning of the decrees, statutes, and ordinances, which the LORD our God has commanded you?’ tell him, ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand. Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh and all his household, but He brought us from there in order to lead us in and give us the land that He swore to our fathers. The LORD commanded us to follow all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God for our prosperity always and for our preservation, as it is today. Righteousness will be ours if we are careful to follow every one of these commands before the LORD our God, as He commanded us.’
These decrees, statutes, and ordinances are Father’s Way. Currently, those of us on this Earth are slaves to a different Egypt just as the Israelites of the time were literal slaves to Egypt. Father is inflicting great and devastating signs and wonders and making Her name known, but righteousness will be ours if we are careful to follow Her commands.
Within the jigsaw puzzle of The Word is a roadmap to Salvation and we should embrace it. Our cherished Christ Jesus was the physical embodiment of The Way and we embrace him as our Lord and Savior as well. The signs and wonders act as direction on our path and the path leads us home and to Eternity.
These are things that we cherish, not only because they are the promise of life but also because our heavenly Father loves us enough to teach them to us. As we follow in Christ’s footsteps who also followed these commands and came to show us The Way, the Truth and the Light, cherish them, write them upon your heart, share them with your children and talk of them often.
