Matthew 22:37-39 37 He said to him, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the greatest and most important commandment. 39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
As brothers and sisters in Christ, it is our obligation under the second greatest commandment to love one another and to support and uplift one another. To remind those who may be facing difficulties in their lives and may feel surrounded by nothing good at all that all things are temporary on this earth and there is a plan in store for all of us. While we may not understand this plan or have foreknowledge of how it will progress and what challenges and even sorrows that it might introduce into our lives, remember that in the good and the bad Father is with us all.
Likewise, it is in obligation to the greatest commandment that we love our God with all our heart, soul and mind. And in doing so we place our trust in Yahweh and hand over our worries and anxieties. We surrender ourselves to Her will and have faith in the plan that our Heavenly Mother and Father has for Her creation as well as for each of us individually. And we know that the One who created us is righteous and loves us and above all things pray that it is Her will and not our own that is done today, tomorrow, and for all eternity.
Thy Will Be Done
By Helen Steiner Rice
God did not promise
sun without rain,
Light without darkness
or joy without pain.
He only promised
strength for the day
When the darkness comes
and we lose our way...
For only through sorrow
do we grow more aware
That God is our refuge
in times of despair,
For when we are happy
and life's bright and fair,
We often forget
to kneel down in prayer...
But God seems much closer
and needed much more
When trouble and sorrow
stand outside our door,
For then we seek shelter
in His wondrous love,
And we ask Him to send us
help from above...
And that is the reason
we know it is true
That bright, shining hours
and dark, sad ones, too,
Are part of the plan
God made for each one,
And all we can pray
is "Thy will be done."
And know that you
are never alone,
For God is your Father
and you're one of His own.
